THE RUSS TOBIN SERIES
So who is Russ Tobin? He was born in Cheshire and when we first join him - he is 22 and living in digs in Liverpool working for a builder's firm called Wainwrights. He is 6 feet tall, brown hair and blue eyes, slim and extraordinarily handsome by all accounts. Throughout the course of his adventures he will visit London - Majorca - London (again) - Nairobi - Nassau - Miami - New York - Toronto - Las Vegas - Tahiti - Sydney - Ireland - London(again) and finally Los Angeles.
The series of books seem to sit in 3 distinct sections. The "job" books where Tobin is employed and describing his experiences ("Sewing Machine Man" through to "Safari"). Then the "adventure" books where Russ is travelling the world and having crazy times ("Paradise" to "Down Under"). And then the "lost years" books where the White Marvel money is gone and Russ is drifting from job to job trying to keep afloat and wondering what to do with his life and where he is headed ("Here Comes" to "Goes Cuckoo")
That's where the trail ended in 1979 and although it hinted that further adventures lay ahead Russ Tobin was quiet for 25 long years. Until, that is - A NEW BOOK! 2005 sees the release of the first new Tobin novel in a quarter of a century. Coaxed out of retirment Stan rides again! We now find Russ running a Retirement Home in Brighton and it's as if he's never been away!
